Been offered a CroMo Spesh Allez locally for a good price. Going to pick it up on Monday, but curiosity has got the better of me...

It's described as "10-years old and silver, steel." Owner is a frequent cyclist but hung this one up years ago.

So, Bikepedia has me a bit stumped... What's the last Cro-mo Allez offered in silver? 1994 Allez Pro meets those criteria but seems a bit much to hope for. Any other Allez between say 1994 and 2004 that was steel and silver?

There was a tig welded allez somewhere around the early 2000s. Pretty sure I've seen them in a silver/gray color.

Found a pic:

Someone on here recently built up one in blue for a gravel bike. It turned out fantastic. I hear they are a great riding and undervalued frame.

I had a 1993 Allez Pro that was silver with yellow decals...I think if you get much beyond 1994 you would be looking at a TIG bike vs lugs...

Thirdgenbird, that's gotta be the one. Thanks!!! This one is going to be built up as a not-so-exotic train station grinder.

2003 Allez Elite Cro-Mo 27 with 3x9 Shimano 105 and Columbus Foco looks to be the answer. Nice!

Should be the perfect frame.

I had that frame, in the blue color. I loved it but rode it into the ground. Given it's steel and older, check it carefully for rust inside the frame. Consider frame-saver if you get it.
