They are a local shop, I stopped in a bought a couple. The quality is crap, but they work for spares. The casing and base tape like to separate and the tread life is pretty short.

These are made by Vittoria and as far as a cheap tubie goes, they aren't bad: http://bontrager.com/model/02853

I've used them for racing a little but again, the base tape and casing tend to separate. They ride nice though!

I have them for what they cost they are fine .don't expect 100 dollar tires though

The cheap tubular thread has resurfaced...

If you are going to make the effort to ride tubulars, get something that will differentiate the ride from a quality clincher. These are crap. Life is short. Splurge and try a nice Veloflex or FMB

Buy 2 nice tires for 120.00 each
And have a cheap spare..
The bont option looks good.

I will say I have the YJ tires and Vitt Rallys in my bike shed. I don't see any reason to pay more for the Rallys.

If you want racing tubulars, the 3x50 wont be enough... everything depends of the use you give to the bike... in my case the 3x50 bucks work even better than the vittoria ones, even the 3x50 improved the design a little bit.

Agree that they arent 1st class cotton european tubulars but you get what you pay for too... but again it depends a lot of your necessities. I would not use those for racing but for training aren't that bad and for that price you really cant complain if aren't 100% straight for example, the vitorria rallies arent 100% either either and so far never seen 100% straight tubulars ever but maybe tufos (a lot of brands I have never used too just in case). Thats why some of the folks here use them as spares.

Remember used one till you were able to see the tube and got a couple of bubbles but the mofo did not blow up neither got a puncture, even my wife noticed the thing was busted but I was just testing go far I was able to go with a "ready to the trash can tubular", and that one as the other ones I had went to the trash w/o punctures but totally busted tho :D Definitely got my money back from those suckers, can't complain at all. Never been able to do such a thing from vittoria for example, never been able to get good mileage out of vittoria rallies, even ride similar to the 3x50 ones anyways.

yeah, if you're going to tubulars, you have to commit and life is too short to ride junk. vitt rallys are junk too...they might look good but don't be fooled!

My only tubular experience so far is with Vittoria Corsa CX 25s...and I think those ride pretty nice...but what do I know? :help:

I am going or my first ride on tubular zipp 404s Monday morning....! Never tried a tubular before...

Negative on the usefulness of 3-for-$50-tubulars.

If you don't yet have any regular riding tubulars, don't start with these. All the trouble with separate wheels, the gluing ritual and added expense to make it all for crud by riding a junky tire. No, no no.

If you don't have any spare tires, don't start with these. Buy the 3rd tire from the tires you already want to ride. Because eventually you will puncture. And your repair of that tubular goes into rotation as your spare. You will eventually acquire more spares than you really need from repaired tubulars. The repaired tubs that go for spares are the ones with casing cuts and tread damage. The repaired tubs from wire and other in'&'out clean punctures get repaired and put back into use for regular riding.

The experience of riding tubulars also comes with the experience of gluing them & repairing them. It is all part of the entree to the secret society cyclisme.

Yea... I will try it, I can always sell them..
Getting 404s with record cassette and two tires... I am fairly certain good ones...as they are being raced tomorrow morning..
With skewers for $400
Not firecrest
Picking them up after race..... ;-)
