I'm going to discontinue my Bicycling Magazine subscription after many years. It's really gone down hill over recent years. I'm considering replacing my subscription with Cyclesport or Velonews. Any opinions out there?

There just were a couple threads on this very subject, read on. Sad state of affairs basically...

The Ride Review from Australia or New England's own "Ride" - two magazines I recommend. I have heard good things about Asphalt... Bicisport is a good one - for the pictures at least - unless you can read Italian.

Reading a cycling magazine is going to be much better than having to follow the politics of the next 8 months.

Spending time with my in-laws will be better than following politics for the next 8 months.

As well as on this Serotta forum, the question has come up recently at Bicycling.com, where a number of us express disappointment with Bicycling Magazine and suggest alternatives:

I have enjoyed Asphalt, a new magazine that is road only and is intelligently written. It is a quarterly magazine. You should check it out. It is from the old Bicycle Guide people.

Asphalt magazine appears to be a good option. Maybe this best of the domestic publications.
