Has anyone used both of these tires?

I am riding both now. Grand Bois 28s are fatter than 28 and Schwalbes are smaller than 28. I prefer the GB because they're comfier. Not sure if it's due to GB's more pliable casing or air volume -- or both.

do you have the exact measurement of the Schwalbe '28' to hand?

I have both the Schwalbe Durano and Ultremo ZX (V-Guard) in 28c, mounted on Mavic CXP33. The Durano measures right at 28, and the Ultremo are 29.

I recently bought a pair of GB Cypres 28s with the Extra Leger casing. They measure 28.5mm wide at 80psi on Aerohead rims, but I will be moving them to A23s soon. I have no experience with the Schwalbes.

My Durano 28s caliper out to 27.2mm at 85psi. Seem to fit all short reach brakes I've tried.

Thanks for your reply. I have been very happy will my GB 700x29's and need to buy two new tires. I think I'll just stick with the Grand Bois's. There expensive, but I get a lot of mileage out of them.

I have not ridden GB tires but I've been riding schwbe marathons for years. I can get 6-7k miles out of the rear tire without rotating. This was what made me a devoted schwalbe rider. However, I just switched to ultremo zx tires on my rando bike and the weight difference and ride duality are noticeable. I'll keep my marathons on the everyday bike and the ultremos on the rando.

I've got 26 GB Cerf's, and they are exactly 26. Don't know about the durability yet, only have about 75 miles on them, but they ride super smooth. My new favorite tire.
