The prices of small steel frames

I would not have thought Daccordi would get this kind of cash. Though the paint is very nice.
I recently spent time looking for and buying a 49cm Merckx corsa for a wee friend. Paid a crazy sum. But they are hard to come by. In my searching I noticed that these small steel frames went for top dollar and a lot of the questions seemed to be from Asian countries. Seems like the folk there are developing an interest in old steel.

a few years ago someone from asia bought my ritchey road logic off ebay...but I didn't get that kind of money for it!

I agree. I ride small frames, dig steel and spend far too much time looking at cool / classic frames on eBay. Merckx, Colnago and other sought after frames in very good condition regularly go for over 1K and sometimes 2K. When folks here guestimate the value of certain frames, the guestimates often seem a little low to me, probably because my frame (no pun intended) of reference is small frames. Confession time -- I spent over 2K for a Master Olympic that got me all hot and bothered. Many other folks were gunning for it too.

I've sold 600 hubs tri-color hubs and suntour bear-trap pedals on ebay and the shipping addresses were cleary third party freight-forwarders for Asian buyers. Also on ebay sold a Yamaha DVD player than ended up in Ukraine -- I know this as after the sale, the buyer sent me messages about selling him more electronics. I'd probably be riding a Pegoretti by now if I'd taken him up on his offer. :)
