No, you shouldn't have bought it. The auction goes to show you that. Of all the suckers on ebay it still didn't sell for the price that you were considering buying it for.

and there is no returns from what I read so that would not be one for me unless I could see and inspect.

NEW paint and repairs would put you over 2K for a used bike of year and use I do not know.
