Hello all,

I recently picked up an old steel framed bike that had some components that justified the price alone. With this said, I can't for the life of me find out anything about the Cesare branded frame. Featuring Campagnolo dropouts and forkends, I tend to believe it's not junk. Thanks for any/all replies.

Quick pic for decal reference (I also have the matching fork) attached!

Could be from this Italian company, Cesare Rizzato. See article from Bike Europe

From Lou Deeter's "Used Bike Buyers Guide":

CESARE M: Italy. Once imported by Gus Betat, New Orleans.
Models:
Strada Tretubi SL 88-89 SL
Superbo SLX 88-89 SLX
MS 89 MS

I don't know if this is the same Cesare.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Unfortunately, I don't think this frame is associated with Cizarre Rizzato or Cezare M. From what I've seen, Cizarre Rizzato is associated with Atala branding. Also, Cezare M frames I've viewed feature an M on the headtube. Regardless, thank you for the replies and effort. Again, all replies are helpful!

Different one at 99%. "Cesare M." was the label for upmarket bikes that big german mail-order company "Brügelmann" sold a couple of years.

(The same "Brügelmann" that gave us those red-yellow Cinellis in the sixties (https://www.google.com/search?q=br%C3%BCgelmann%20cinelli&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=FnsOUq6xPIathQeJi4CYCw&biw=2560&bih=1272&sei=GXsOUv6CIY2ShQfXiIGADA))

As you can see, different typeset on the name.

Contrary to what Dustin writes on his website, there wasn't a bike builder called "Cesare M." .
Rumours are the "M" stood for "Manfred Brügelmann" and the name translated to "Kaiser (=Emporer) Manfred"

But "Cesare" is a common italian name...
