Today at the end of my after-work ride it was 67*. In St Louis. In the middle of August.

I'm not sure how things have been elsewhere this summer, but this year St Louis has actually been decent. I think the highest we've had (so far) was 98*, nothing above 100*, which is nice, and I really haven't been running my A/C much the last few weeks.

Given that mid-July to mid-August is statistically the worst of it, we may make it without any days above 100. Much better than the heat and horrible drought we had last year.

Yeah, I packed a jacket for my ride tonight (started around 6:30). It was cold enough by 8 or so that I considered stopping to put it on, but didn't. Winter is too close already, I'd prefer 10 degrees warmer. No use of AC here this year at all.

A while back at work we had a Web-Ex meeting and I was sharing my computer desktop with some guys in Dallas. They got a kick out of the local weather app on my screen that was showing 74* in St Louis around 3 in the afternoon, when they were around 100* We usually aren't that much better than they are.

Was about 72 degrees when I started tonight. Dunno what it was when I finished. Last two years , we've had temps near or above 100 degrees for most of July and August. Heat Index values 105 - 111.

I'm not complaining.

nice and cool here in the NYC area too.

i've been commuting to work on my motorcycle, and the weather has been simply blissful for that.

this is the weather power companies hate, little need for hear or ac. nice.

edit: we had an oppressively hot second half of July though, this is welcome relief.

Boston area has been about 60 even every AM when I threw my leg over the bike for the AM commute. I've even tossed on a vest a few times!

Commuting to work this week in knickers, long sleeve Ibex wool jersey here in upstate NY.
It's been a blissful 48-50F when I leave for work around 0630.

I ride in the dark before work. The last two mornings it was 48 at 4:30. This morning it was 54 - I rode in tights and wool arm warmers. I'm really not ready for bundling back up. It's supposed to warm back up over the next few days.

I grew up in Miami, FL so I'm a little wimpy when it comes to riding in the cold. I layer up and do it, but I'm not really enjoying it...

Cool here in southeastern Minnesota too. Most mornings lately around 50, with afternoon highs in the mid-70s...and very low humidity. Beautiful riding weather. This time of year, we often have overnight lows near 70 and daytimes around 90, with plenty of humidity.

An unseasonably cool August I can deal with. It's the thought of an unseasonably cool October or November that makes me worry....

The northern half of Minnesota had overnight temperatures in the low 30's. Reminds me of when I first moved to Minnesota. There was frost before Labor Day. First snow was in October and it never went above 32 until the end of April. The snow cover lasted the entire Winter. Many days were 30 below zero and lower. It was the first time I had seen Sun Dogs in the sky. It was like a mini ice age.

As far as I am concerned, this weather has been absolutely perfect in New England the past few weeks...

Warming trend next week though for the Range.

Our family cabin is near Ely.

I like a shot of early cool temps.

Knocks the daylights out of the mosquito/wasp populations!

Downside is it also doesn't do much for the Monarchs as they head south out of Canada. :(

I hear you, but, somehow, the cold front made it through here - I think it peters out around Waco. However, all good things must come to an end. It will be back in the high 90's or 100's next week.
