Back on the trails

I got my first mt bike back in 1984 but drifted away about 10 years ago. The lure of the dirt, bikes with better suspension and 29er wheels got me interested again. Just picked up a 2014 Giant Anthem X 29er 1. Only two rides so far and I find I really need to get my off road legs back! Still, it is impressive how much more evolved mt bikes have gotten over the last decade.

That's a pretty sick looking rig. Lots of tech there too. With all the dangers experienced and read about on MUT's and roads, mtn. biking seems a lot more alluring and with a bike like that I would imagine a fun doable challenge. My backyard is literally filled with all sorts of trials style riding and the trails are pretty washed out with lots of roots and loose rock. Hard tail bikes with a fork don't do well around here. I did it back in the nineties but very little it was just too discouraging having to get off the bike all the time.
