I know that they're Record hubs but I could use some help in identifying the vintage, as I assume that maintenance procedures and replacement parts will vary. Thanks

These are almost exactly the same as the current ones, except silver and with a grease port. They are very desirable mostly because they are silver. Good bearings spin nice, large axles, easy to maintain.

When they first came out a lot of people didn't like the flange spacing because they built weaker wheels. All the other hub manufacturers caught up to the spacing, though, so now they are no worse than anyone else.

Enjoy!

I have a set of these quick releases that have gone with me from bike to bike. I'll be buried with them.

Thanks much! I just found the maintenance and parts manual on line as a result of your advice.

Actually, these came out in either 1999 or 2000. I have a rear Chorus from that time, it doesn't have the grease port and weighs about 10-15gs more than the record. But it has the same innards, I.e., cones, cups and bearings. Same for the centaur rear hub of that era.

Picky but first seen actually with Record and Chorus in 1998.

Actually, these hubs have almost identical flange spacing to the previous Campagnolo hubs - Campagnolo has not changed the flange spacing on their hubs* since they introduced 8spd in 1991.

*some of Campy's pre-built wheels use special hubs which do sometimes have different flange spacing.

"Help dating Campag Record hubs"

...back in the day, I would've loved some help dating Gisele Bundchen.

Never happened. But it all worked out nicely, I have to say.
