SRAM shimano Compatibility question

I picked up a SRAM Rival groupo to update my ride but hit a snag. The FD is a 105 clamp on unit and the SRAM Rival is braze on... This is my first time using Sram road stuff and I don't have a braze on adapter handy. I was hoping to ride this tomorrow morning. Will the SRAM Rival shifter work with the 105 FD temporarily or is the throw too different to work right?

BTW what braze on adaptor would you recommend?

I'm a campy guy, but a good number of sram riders use a shimano fd to improve shifting.

Front shifting seems to be somewhat of an issue with SRAM, but I've had no problems with my Rival bike.

If you want to put a Rival on the bike at some point, I have a nice used 32 clamp black Rival sitting over yonder on the kitchen counter.

It'll be fine. I used Record 10 shifters with a 105 9-SPD derailleur for a while.

FD is just pushing a chain wherever the shifters says.

well, the shimano FD will 'probably' work better than any sram FD.

I have 'solved' more than a few of the common FD shifting issues with various sram road groups by using a 5700 or 6700 FD.

I use a 6600 front derailleur with SRAM shifters. The stiffer Shimano spring requires more force at the lever, but otherwise works well. Aren't the 5700 and 6700 front derailleurs slightly wider and use a slightly different pull ratio?
