The fully hollow Madone fork troubles me. Enve and Serotta forks are both solid carbon down where the steerer tube becomes the crown. That's an area where I don't mind more material.

The ENVE forks are also Hollow at the crown and steer tube junction. Not sure about Serotta.

Most of these cut away pics are very clean... The top line stuff virtually all looks like this now and they're actually a stronger structure but factor than older solid on solid stuff.

not mine. the bottom couple of inches of steerer tube are solid on my 2.0 forks. Maybe the 1.0 are hollow?

The two I've seed cut away are hollow. I asked Jason at ENVE to make sure (as who knows when they make changes) and he confirmed.

BUT he didnt confirm when.

Isn't the point of a tapered steerer (fatter at the bottom) so that you can make the crown/steerer just as stiff and strong but use less material (i.e. hollow it out)? If the crown/steerer junction wasn't hollow, there'd be no point in a tapered steerer.
