Post your favorites.
What is your preference? Is this something you think about when selecting a builder? It is something you never see (unless something very bad happens) when riding the bike.

I think I prefer a head tube badge vs. a decal, but it's nof a deal breaker for me...
I'm a fan of two head badges so far... the vaunted Richard Sachs and then I also really like the All City badge... sorry, on my phone and can't post pics...

I prefer a head badge, but I don't think it's that important. As I said in another thread of yours -- I think -- when I finally get a Kirk, I'll probably have RCJ (http://www.headbadges.com/id74.html) make me a head badge.

That's how I feel - I prefer a head badge, but my Marnati rides just fine without one.
My favorite is this one - courtesy of Jen Green:

Definitely love the classic look of a head badge but as far as what bike im choosing it is only a perk. Plenty of awesome builders out there that dont use headbadges.

I love a good head tube badge and there's lots of nice ones out there. Carl Strong's is right up there on my list.

I'm in the headtube badge camp.
Jen Green makes some beautiful pieces but for free this one's pretty hard to beat:

Love the Afred E., but his ears have been clipped for aerodynamics and he must be dying his hair because it is a copper color.

You didn't jump on that limited edition 10th anniversary Kirk special??? those were getting some once in a decade head badges if I recall.

I need to figure out what's happening with my spine before I pull the trigger on a Kirk, even at the regular price. For the moment, I've got two road bikes (both have head badges) that work well enough for me, so I'm content to wait.

Not something that's ever influenced a purchase, but of the bikes I own these two are probably my favorites in each of the categories.

A headbadge is important to me and when I ordered my Holland exogrid, I wanted a badge and not a decal. Bill had Joe Bell paint this headbadge which Bill makes for his exogrid frames. I was prepared to have a custom badge made if the only alternative was a decal.

I had Jen Green make me this for my Zanc. Gave a spare to Mike, he seemed to like it.

I love headtube badges, but one thing that bothers me about the larger metal ones is the need to drill holes in the HT for the rivets. I'm 100% that the increased stress at the holes due to the Kt won't ever be a problem, but for steel frames the possibility of corrosion could be an issue. Just the same, riveted-in badges are so cool, and just bonding one on there is somehow not as neat (IMO). Of course brazing one on would be best of all, but then you've created a much bigger finishing job.

I'm not one to have an opinion about this. Whatever the builder chooses is part and parcel. Respect.

i would likely live in a shed for a year just to afford the decreased rent it would take to get me a custom frame made by Eric. That headbadge is the most beautiful headbadge ever, and it's the least beautiful part of most of his bikes.
God, what am I doing with all these Konas...

I like the Salsa head badge, but none of my current bikes have badges -- all decals. In fact, of all the many bikes I've owned over the years, the only ones that had badges were the Salsa and a Gios, which has a very nice badge.
I like this one; Neither paint nor decal!

I had a really great experience working with Jen Green on the custom headbadge for my wife's Renovo. I gave her a few starting points, and she delivered a fantastic tri-metal design.
