This is all of the cyclists out of the nearly 200 competing in that edition?

I had expected to see more names there.

I believe these were samples that had been tested after the Festina affair. I agree with Jonathan Vaughters tweets for once, that if more riders had been tested and tested before the Tour, nearly 100% of the riders participating in the Tour that year would have tested positive for EPO.

"The Senate ordered that no results would be stripped as a result of their report."

Why is Eddy Mazzoleni on both the positive and suspicious lists?

I would have expected to see more names on the list but it's hardly a surprise, why even bother at this point with 98 doping test results?

I was holding out hope that Pantani was clean. alas, my dreams are crushed.

To honor the little pirate, I'll ride up a hill tonight out of the saddle, holding the drops.

"Uh... well, ya see, there's a backlog and uh, these tests are really important for transparency + protocol so we, uh, figure uhm, any results are necessary and will help our recovery process. We want to be as transparent as possible."

Pretty similar to what we've heard from Police Depts with huge backlogs of rape kits waiting for their DNA testing. Everyone gets their day . . . just might take 15 years.

Why is Eddy Mazzoleni on both the positive and suspicious lists?

Probably two samples in question. One definitively positive, the other suspicious.

No such thing as statute of limitations when talking about doping?

All the riders of the 90's were doping is not news at this point. What's more interesting is the senate is claiming Froome is clean. No reason to doubt his performance. It's a new day for cycling!

I guess ten years from now we will find out all the current riders were doped but the riders of 2023 are absolutely clean. Maybe they should put the prize money, jerseys and trophies in escrow for 10 years before releasing them.

I'm pretty sure the French are simply referring to his hair gel.

I think he is getting a TUE for that hair gel.
