Do any if you folks have one? Do you like it? What sort of mileage do you realize?

I assuming you are talking modern Vespa...4T motors...GT, LX, etc...???

I have a slew of classic/vintage Vespas and Lambrettas, but can't speak to the modern variety.

My garage partner in crime has a GT200 and likes it a lot...I can find out what kind of MPG he sees, if you like.

Got an ET4 (http://modernvespa.com/forum/wiki-vespa-et4) (4 stroke). Never really measured the mpg but I would guess somewhere around 50.
Actually considering selling mine ;)

The most fuel efficient ones ought to be the 4-stroke 150cc ET4 or later LX150. You'd get 60-70 mpg out of one of those depending on riding style. Lots of full-throttle acceleration and lots of high rpm running has a very deleterious effect on scooter mileage.

I don't have one; my small-displacement experience is limited to mopeds, a fairly modern C70, and some vintage Vespas.

I will admit I am stupidly tempted by the new Honda Grom though. Those Honda horizontal motors are so good, and fuel injection is great for mileage.

I had a 50cc Italjet that I kitted to 85cc, it was awesome. I got around 75mpg. Really fun. If I got another scooter I'd get a 125cc or larger. Even for town commuting.

If I had to go between two towns, I'd love to get a 250cc motorcycle instead. That way you get a full size wheel and larger brakes.

I've thought of one, but a small motorcycle is usually cheaper used and gets about the same mileage, like the guy with the cbr250r mentioned.

If I was to get a scooter, I'd probably just get a Japanese one like a ruckus maybe (they even make italian looking japanese ones like the yamaha vino).

Honda has some new motorcycles in the 500-650cc range that start under $6000 and get 50-70 MPG if that is of interest to you.

OT to the OT... but some of the most fun I've ever had was riding vintage (circa 1964) Vespas- 150 cc I believe, up the coast of Vietnam a couple of years ago.

Check out vietnamvespaadventures.com- cool videos on the website-if you are interested.

Holy crap I want a grom. I wonder how it would do in snow with different tires,

I've got an LXV 150 in the dark metallic gray (looks like the one below). I seem to be getting about 60-65 mpg. It's a hoot around our suburban town, including trips of 15 miles or so up the coast to visit my peeps at Signature Cycles. I've loaned it to Signature as the "support vehicle" for their fall ride a couple times. Highly recommended and fun. Tim

Had a P200E with a disk upgrade that I sold when the kids came along. I regret selling that scoot all the time.
