I'm looking for folks suggestions for a small point and shoot camera for taking on rides. As much as I sweat, soak my head, or get caught in the rain I think that I need a waterproof or rugged type camera, but I'm open to all suggestions.

Either use the camera in the phone you are likely hauling along already or just pick one that fits your hand well enough you can use it without taking too much concentration away from your enjoyment.

Either way, just throw it in a ziploc or one of those nicer waterproof bags made for the purpose.

Small? How about the Nikon Coolpix S01 (http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/coolpix/s/s01/)?
Then just get a case (http://www.amazon.com/Metallic-Coolpix-S1000pj-Digital-Cameras/dp/B008CIV4CU/ref=sr_1_52?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1374435179&sr=1-52&keywords=coolpix+so1+case) to protect it

I find the touchscreen on my phone to be sub-optimal for on-the-go shooting. I prefer the hard controls on a real camera.

I have a G11 I drag along, but it's to large for me to recommend as ride- specific camera.

I have a really good condition Olympus 1030SW. Nothing intense. I used it for my rides, upgraded to the newer "HD" model. If you want something that'll give you better pictures than a cellphone, but isnt a $400 Go-Pro..

Im currently selling it for $80 - comes with a new Olympus battery and a 16gb memory card

Its this one. Green face plate - http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/17986/olympus-mju-1030-sw/

Never been in salt water, let alone a pool.
