Now that's funny, in a Schadenfreude sort of way. So much ego and so little time.

there's like 10k riders at RAGBRAI. as long as you don't stop at suspiciously broken down team busses you'll probably never even see him. i'm guessing he isn't camping along the way either. the tour is about what you make of your personal experience, not LA's appearance.

there are plenty of other great state tours as well anyway.

Really? Do we need to go through this again? Did the others actively seek to destroy people's reputations? Their livelihoods?

There will be more than 25K riders!

I started Austin-Shiner at the very front and rode the first part there. He and Bob Roll were also riding, and I didn't even notice them. There was much clucking about it afterwards, however. LA is a jerk, and that's always been clear. He's not the first cheater, not by a century! The top 4 riders in the 1904 TDF were disqualified, and that was the start of a century of allegations of cheating. Another LA-hating thread is like another one about how does one use the toilet while wearing bibshorts. It's time to let go of the hatred.

It's a cool "in" cycling joke--AND it describes me perfectly! (Depending on who you ask.)

If there is any ride he should be allowed to ride it is RAGBRAI. Isn't it mandatory to be have some sort of intoxicant ingested to participate?

Chris - as I love peeps from OKC, please stay away from the dark alley that is LA. he's reaping what he sowed. OK folks should care less about him, he's from TX after all.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I was saying that I find their "transgressions" to be less offensive than those that Lance committed.

oh no, i got it. i was just trying to suggest we should all care a little less about it. particularly the fiercely independent and strong oklahomans. LA was that McDoyle character from the Adam Sandler movies. "McDoyle rules!" ultimately he'll be written off as a caricature of himself. it's very tragic however, as he's actually had a more than significant impact on the sport.

as in everything.....appreciate his contribution, learn from his mistakes, relegate to history. for example, franklin pierce (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_Pierce) was the 14th president of the US. ever heard of him. probably not, because lincoln dwarfed him in historical significance soon thereafter. perhaps the same will happen to LA.

Comments like this are way out of line. Why did a moderator not shut this down after this post? Makes me question why I became a forum sponsor. Speaking as a forum sponsor, why would I want to be associated with this kind of stuff? Unreal.

Mods...it is up to you guys to shut this kind of stuff down.

This is the problem with having sponsors that are active members. They end up wantlng to dictate how it is moderated.

That is the kind of stufff that NEEDS to be shut down.

Lessee, how to say this nicely..LA is going to ride a ride in the midwest and you are so tweaked by this you want to imply lynching him would be OK.

Really, about some guy who doped, like all the others, who was an ass-hat, while racing a bicycle.....ok to lynch him..

Get a farging life dude, or go ride your bike or something. There are more important things to worry about than some guy in Texas. I see you aren't a kid but the above smacks of a 16 year old messing with his mom's computer.

Give it a rest man. So you are ok with comments that refer to lynching and hanging. That would offend anyone esp. tho folks that have a business tied to this place. Give it a rest. I advocated in the past before I was a sponsor to lock offensive threads. Makes no difference now that I am a sponsor. Give the hate and promotion of hate a rest. I am not trying to dictate anything...just promote a decent dialogue. You are contributing nothing by your actions seemingly giving offensive comments a pass then calling out those that are offended. Nothing constructive going on here.
