I was just doing some research on Google Streetview, when I noticed a cyclist climbing Calaveras Rd just outside San Jose. Riding a Roubaix, he has attained his 15 minutes of fame!

To follow along, click on this link (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=9914+Calaveras+Road,+Milpitas,+CA&hl=en&ll=37.453075,-121.831684&spn=0.009164,0.021136&sll=37.452189,-121.832113&sspn=0.009233,0.021136&oq=9914+cala&hnear=9914+Calaveras+Rd,+Milpitas,+California+9503 5&t=m&z=16&layer=c&cbll=37.453127,-121.831591&panoid=r0YhZE8_gH9RHkuWIbBb2g&cbp=12,56.19,,0,14.35), point your self north, then keep clicking as the car gets closer and closer, finally passing him with a view of Calaveras Reservoir below.

That's a pretty cool sierra nevada jersey. I love the roads in the bay area so much.

There used to be a cyclist on Street View at a corner I pass on nearly all of my rides, but they've since updated things and now he's gone. Makes you wonder if the "star" is ever recognized and alerted by his buddies.

I'm pretty sure someone on the forum used to be SV - it was a shot of the garage, with the lawnmower at the edge of the driveway.

Man, I must have had to click six or seven times.:p

Maybe you could get Cyclingthealps to animate that, so then it could be... animated. This site has all kinds of fun with Google and cols, including some with Street View--click "street tour" and then Play: http://www.cyclingthealps.com/#l-alpe-d-huez

I met the Google Maps car about a month ago on a Sunday morning. it was a pretty narrow side-road. They may not have been taking pictures at that moment, as the Street View has yet to be posted. There was a follow-vehicle behind the camera car. I've been checking periodically, but so far, nada.

I made the mistake of waving at the car as it went by and they rewarded me by photoshopping me out when they posted the pictures.

Ah, no. Actually you weren't really there. It's enough to make you question your whole existence.

I usually flip it the old bird for invading my privacy, hope to see that one someday;)
