In my constant search for setback seatposts, through the largesse of fly I came into possession of a REAL SETBACK seatpost. The problem I faced is that the seatpost is a 26.6mm and the seat tube on my roller bike is 27.2mm, a lesson I learned while on the rollers one day, fortunately not in the most painful way. While I did find a shim online that would take a 25.4mm post to 26.0mm and, therefore, should take a 26.6mm one to 27.2mm, inspired by watching Paulie Teutel on American Chopper turning sheet metal into anything I decided my time to DIM had come.
I decided that the perfect shim material would be a well-cleaned, de-labeled cat food can. I carved it up to create a shim, slid it into the seat tube, put in the post and tightened it up. Seems to work just fine, although Sophie, my cat, has taken new interest in the bike. We will sort that out.
