used tires - recycle or what?

remind me, what do we do with these things?
i recall specialized had some recycling program in the past where you'd exchange used/damaged tires for free water bottles. but that's a while back. can i just toss them into recycling bins?

I recycle them at a local bike shop. They happen to be a Specialized dealer, so maybe that's where they send 'em?

my city has curbside recycling program for a wide variety of things (glass, plastics, aluminum, paper, cardboard, kitchen waste/yard debris), but it doesn't accommodate used tires.

maybe a car tire store would take them.
