three bikes and a light pole (riding with kids)

A couple of weeks ago I started looking for a micro mini for my oldest son (5 1/2) as his 12" bike was getting a bit small for him. As soon we found him something (the blue GT) I started working on getting my youngest (3 1/2) onto the 12" bike. They had both started on strider/balance bikes which made the transition to a pedal bike a snap.
Tonight the three of us took out first ride out on the local MUT and made anow is my favorite 'light pole' photo.

. . . my friend Kevin and I always try to slow down and say hi if we see a parent out with a really small child on a bike. It is so cool to see the kid's face when the strange bikers encourage him/her
and tell them "Hey, cool bike!"

On the flip side, it's disappointing to see how many parents are out riding with their kids and the kids have a helmet, parents don't
