Have any of you heard anything about Kult Bike wheels? They are selling 1500g wheels for $499 as a "promotion." I have a friend who is interested in them and I told him that I would skeptical until more is known about them.

Here's their website:

http://www.kultbike.com/shop/wheels-NP.html

What do you think?

According to the website they have only built 130 wheels for the public and they are already working on a redesign. Sounds like the first generation of any Microsoft product. They also never mention the manufacturers for the hubs, rims or spokes. Unless you can speak to someone with some experience with these wheels, I would be very cautious.

At that price-point you could be looking at top quality hubs (Campy/Shimano/White Ind.) DT spokes and Mavic/Velocity rims made to order.

Hey guys,

I do not think it is a "promotion" per se. The name of the wheel is the Pro Motion.

Probably the regular Price.

*To be fair, he builds my wheels

I agree with everything said so far. Why would you chance it? Makes no sense to me. For $499, you could buy wheels with confidence. With these, you have no idea what you are getting.

I wouldn't buy these for $299 or $199. Really.

Thanks for the replies and for confirming my suspicions about these wheels. My friend rides a beautiful Della Santa. I don’t think that these wheels would do the bike justice.

Is what the guy sells worth it? Not according to sellsworth. :)
