Good afternoon-- I rode the Tour de Cure out of Reston, VA, on Sunday and thought it was terrific. Did anyone else ride and if so, what did you think?

I"ll be riding the event in Verona Beach this coming weekend. Hopefully this year we won't need the scuba gear :) How did you like it?

The ride is the best organized one-day ride I've ever encountered. The pit stops are stocked with cold drinks, a lot of food, and increadibly friendly volunteers who really do cheer you on. I've done this ride for several years and each year is excellent. The course is well marked and easy to follow. As a Red Rider I was surprised how many people encouraged me by shouting "Go Red Rider" or other encouraging shouts. I really can't say enough good things about the ride.

Good luck and I hope you have as good experience.

I'll be riding in the Tour de Cure-Fargo on the 15th. I rode it last year too. Very well organized, supports a great cause, and is a lot of fun.

Hats off to you Red Rider!

I didn't, but did grow up in Reston. Rode all over that town as a kid, have to imagine the roads out of Reston would make for great rides.

Glad to hear it was well run. I'm looking at the Orange County ride this year. Any idea of how early the routes are released? Are there mileage options and such?

Routes are usually out at least a month in advance. The Fargo one has 15, 35, 75, & 100 mile options.
