I recently saw a Lewellyn bike photo with an extralite front hub and was wondering why the need to identify the left side? The website didn't have any real details beyond lots of technical jargon about military spec & FEM.

And wouldn't the left side change depending on where you view it from anyway? Please enlighten me!

As a grumpy old mechanic/wheel builder, they've got their logo backwards.

Likely because the internals are not symmetrical. The "micro tuner" goes on the left side, thus it is good to know what the manufacturer considers the left side.

Doesn't matter, you can't read it while it's moving. Build the wheel, ride the bike...

Yabbut... EVERY time you stop at a coffee stop every Swinging Richard is going to know the wheelbuilder effed up that wheel 'cause 'the label's facing the wrong way.'

Too bad the logo is then upside down. Should be able to read it while sitting on the bike. yes, adjuster is better on the LH side of a front hub..ala Campagnolo.

Does it mean anything-probably not but like wheels built so you can't read the logo thru the valve hole..small point, and if ignored, wonder what other things are ignored, like proper tension.
