Must be winter, its sleeting 27 degrees and I'm
starting threads.

What makes a good bike magazine in your opinion?
Reviews of top of the line racing bikes or more
real world bikes (like asphalt vs cycling plus)?
All racing news or just a smattering?
Historical stories and classic components?
repair/maintenance features?

curious minds wanna know (me).

Well-researched information.

I'd like articles more than a page long. No inserts or renewal crap to fall or tear out, and a few full page adverts smattered throughout with small adverts in the back. It seems today you only get a snippet of info and nothing in-depth or well researched as weisan pal pointed out.

How about something you can sit down to read and not be finished with it before you've got off the pot.

Combine the best of cycling plus, riv reader, vbq, and some clever editorial satire and I think that would be a good rag.

It should not do a cover feature of Jan Ulrich on more than 1 issue a year--if that many.

P.S. My 220ST holds 8, thank you.

I'm more of a pictures guy, yeah I'll read a few of the articles but a picture is worth a thousand words. And when you have a bicycle magazine such as CYCLE SPORT with dozens of high gloss high defintion colors that's what I look at first...

Lots of photos of shaved legs slathered in baby oil accompanied by articles with titles like, "Twenty-seven reasons why chicks dig thighs of steel," and, "Thirteen ways to make your thighs look like they're thighs of steel," and stuff like that.

NO MAIL ORDER ADDS, magazines are nothing but ads now a days. Oh, and no more than one LA story a year, unless its when he gets caught! :D
