Hi everybody on the forum,

according to the homepage the Concours is available in full matte finish again for 2006 as a standard finish. Does anybody know if thats true and how the details are? Is it full matte or are the dropouts polished? Is it the 'same matte' as on the Legend models? Or is there any difference like on the polish vs. brushed finish of Legend/Concours?

Best regards,
Peter

I would go with the polished finish. The Serotta matte finish is rougher than
the matte finish on some other brands. I found that it holds the dirt and grease
and makes the bike harder to clean. In fact, The Serotta "polished" finish is
closer to what some would call matte. For example Litespeed's polish is way
shiny and their matte is more like Serotta's Polish.

Bottom line: check out the actual Serotta bikes before you decide, I like
the polish much better

VF, my opinion

PS: the legend and Concours are very similar frames in actual riding. In fact
I think the rear triangles may be very similar. The workmanship seems identical too.Serotta uses the matte finish
as one way to seperate the two models along with a slightly more advanced
tubeset. In the real world, you would be hard pressed. I think to tell the difference
in riding blindfolded, Also that's dangerous.....

My new Concours CX is half matte and half polish with flames (see old thread).

I like the matte finish.

I am not a huge fan of polished "decals" on matte as I like a little color in the mix somehwere. The polished "decals" look nice if you want something understated, but it is not my cup of tea.

The standard finish options for the Concours for 2006 are; Satin Finish, Matte finish or solid paint. If you have the Matte the drop out is matte and same for the Satin. The Legend drop out is polished!!!

Andrew:
The Serotta site says that you offer Matte and "brushed" finish as
standard on the Concours. Does satin=brushed?
Which is the smoother (finer) finish Satin?

Thanks

I have a matte concours, I love the look--very industrial/stealth

the shiny polish is just not my personal taste, just imho

I have a Moots Ti post and it almost matches the serotta finish exactly--the moots finish is slightly lighter in color

But I'm sure you love matte decals on polished, like my Legend.

You wouldn't be insulting my bike in public now, would you? :D

Yes, Brushed equals Satin or satin = brushed!!

I have a brushed concours and I really like it. The brushed surface has a way of reflecting different colors in the light in a cool sort of way. I think its really beautiful but to each her own.....

The choosing is a lot of fun when you can't go wrong any way.

I have seen Rapid T's bike. The brushed finish in contrast to the arctic blue on her bike is almost as beautiful as her smile.
