It appears that I've cracked the carbon seat tube on my Parlee underneath the seat clamp thereby making it impossible to tighten the seat post in place. Is there an "easy" fix or is the bike facing a trip to Parlee or Calfee for a repair?
Thanks.

Sounds like "a trip to Parlee or Calfee for a repair", but post a pic.

I agree
That bike should be heading home to Beverly, MA
If that fails you will be REALLY unhappy
Also, don't mess with carbon - getting a splinter really s$&@s!

I would give Tom a call or send him an email (tom@parlee.com) with photos. I'm sure that they'll take care of you.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought.
Sigh.

well, since its going back, might as well get it refinished and re-decaled. it;ll come back minty fresh like a new bike

torque wrench on carbon for best way (if you do not do already). F
or replacement is not inexpensive of any carbon parts.... Seat posts and handlebars I have personally found this out:eek: PETE

Sounded like he over-torqued/over-tightened the seatpost clamp.

how did the crack occur?
By deciding to by a fancy carbon bike instead of titanium.

By deciding to buy a fancy carbon bike instead of titanium.
Or a nice steel frame. Don't'cha all know that carbon fiber will spontaneously catch fire, fall over and sink into the swamp?
