Looking to build up my new XC race bike and am quite unsure what's out there in terms of a mass-production lightweight SS specific frame that can fit a 650b wheel.

Anybody have any suggestions?

On One Whippet.

Get on the bandwagon while it's hot, they keep bumping their price as it gets more and more popular.

Definitely an option - anything out there that's more SS dedicated? No bosses, guides, etc?

Maybe something with a threaded BB even...

Surly 1x1, although braze on wise it is rim/disc brake capable.

I have a Soma B-Side, great bike, does have some braze-ons, but its sweet and affordable.

Drill the rivets out.

Drill the rivets out.

Thanks.

So, it appears the options are limited or anything under 4lbs, no? Is there such a thing as cheap custom steel or ti nowadays? Aluminum?!

Vassago Jabberwocky 29er can run 650, is disc only, has cage bolts and threaded bottom bracket only.

Fairly heavy though.

Carver may have something (bikeman), think rather than the 650B it's now a 29 or 650B wheelsize in one frame, think it's called ti 420? Or you could go their custom route for a 26/650 specific SS frame for similar $
