View Full Version : How carefully do you wash your Assos clothing?

I know that Assos recommend gentle/delicate cycle washing of their clothes, and even sell a special detergent, how necessary is it? Will regular cycle with regular detergent kill these items - and I am thinking mainly of bib shorts - and would using woolite or ivory snow be an acceptable middle ground? I never use fabric softener so no need to worry about those effects.

What do you guys do?

no worries....I use woolite and throw the bibs into a wash bag....a trick I learned from watching my wife wash her La Perla. ;)

I toss em' in with everything else, don't seperate colors etc. Wash on reg cycle, hang dry. Never had a problem or sign of unreasonable wear. I've done this with a regular old top loader Whirlpool and our newer super duper front loader and no difference in results. Noticeably less residual soap in all my cycling clothes using the front loader though.

Handsome is not a term to be used with a woman.

Cigars and thighs???? "Zome times a zigar, is not really a zigar".

I'm thinking....Whoa-Man!!

use All w/bleach alternative and wash them with whatever else is around on normal cycle, and then send the whole load through a short cycle without detergent in order to deal with any detergent hanging on for dear life. No problems (I'm sure that this chronic rash has nothing to do with how I clean my bibs).

Woolite, cold water & gentle cycle. I've never had a pair of Assos bibs wear prematurely, or any other Assos garment for that matter.

Just keep the woolite away from wool, not recomended by the
wool police. Real Sheep use Ivory Snow.

What is a wash bag? Seriously? I wash all my cycling and running stuff in woolite with the gentle setting then hang dry over night.

Washing machine, laundry detergent (powder), hang 'em up to dry. Been doing that for years and I can't seem to wear them out, or any other brand for that matter. This stuff is not fragile.

if you can afford to buy assos clothing, you can afford to have an expert wash them for you, so you don't have to worry about it

I gave up smoking cigars.

Compared to Sans-mans, there's nothing wrong with a handsome woman.

it's a zippered mesh bag that keeps your stuff from tangling with and rubbing against other stuff in the wash. They are sold everywhere....

leave all my stuff in a tub with wool wash, tepid water, rinse out whilst in the shower. Every 3 months use the Assos wash. Still have every piece of Assos I've ever bought.
