I wish I had the scratch to buy two...one to ride, one to hide.

Own a bike shop, make your head soft beating your head against the wall, lose your sense of humor, AND your money....and you can.

Ha!

Well that has been my plan for a long time. Having worked in and out of the industry for a long time I feel ya. I also have been a small business (outside the bike biz) owner so I know the life. Or lack of one...

Cheers

Nibali's been racing that group in the Giro.

Has he? That's cool he's gone old school with the mechanical. There's something to be said for that.

What do you bet Campy's 100th anniversary groupset will be wireless?

Campy's Facebook page has been pimping his use of the 80th group in the Giro.

Cool. I wanted Campy but you can't ease on in, you have to make a commitment. I dunno, about seven years ago, I went to a bike swap and bought some Record parts (had Duraace on my bike). Found the rest of them and converted. Now have two bikes with Record and two with Chorus. Never looked back. It is not that Campy is better than Shimano or SRAM, but I like what they believe in.

Pretty solid investment imo.
I'd be too damn tempted to use the parts.

Happy with my Merckx with a 1988 C Record/Delta group on it...I see no need for modern stuff on the bikes I ride.

Thanks Ned Ludd

Congrats, Spud!

I know I badmouthed the splotchy emblems, but truth-be-told, I may be critical because it is way out of my budget to collect such things.

Just an update, I have gotten many compliments on the cycling cap you gifted me! I wear it all the time, on or off the bike!

Would be interested in seeing your classic Merckx if you can dig up a photo. Sounds like a real gem.

Have a great day, and best of luck.
