They've started the climb of El Passo de Casson Di Lanza. The fireworks should be lit quite soon! Hopefully, there is a massive descent to the finish. But I feel like the peloton will come together at the last climb of the day.

My profile says mountain top finish Cat 1 - Sky in good position for the finale

Whoops! Wording again, I meant descent to the final climb. Damn! Two 20+ km climbs and it isn't the hardest stage!

Now this tactic by Sky is interesting..................

The elastic, as they say, has snapped.

Amazing. they literally hit the 'expected finishing time' to the minute. How do they know that?!

That was a great stage! Wonder what Sky will do now? Clearly, Wiggins isn't the strongest rider on the team anymore.

Ag2r is impressing me too. Betancur can really do some damage on the mountains and with Pozzovivo, that could be a a powerful 1-2 punch.

I didn't see him in the top 30 and they lost around 4 1/2 minutes. I think he's done at this year's Giro. Nibali looked pretty good, when Cadel attacked and he was distanced a little, I thought he was pedaling squares. An acceleration brought him back to the group and another gave him third place and some bonus time.

Damn. Sucks. Was hoping for better results for him.

Agreed Nibali is looking good. Hate to be that guy but is he looking too good? Amazing TT, keeping up with everyone's accelartions and being very, very consistent and showing no signs of weakness???.....sorry to be debby downer but c'mon.

He was the 3rd best rider last year at the TdF...but rode well....and his TTing has improved incrementally.....not exponentially the last 2-3 years. He's called this race as his goal for the year for awhile now....I am not too surprised. Good on him.

Very good points, and I wasn't discrediting him as a rider whatsoever. Just shocked is all. Seems like the guy hasn't been able to "put it all together" in the past........maybe this is his time.......

Nibali historically has suffered a "bad day" in most of the grand tours he has entered. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I loved watching Rigoberto Uran on the attack, and am damn happy for Cuddles. But I get what azrider is saying...I get the feeling of too good to be true as regards Nibali, but for his sake hope that he can hang on to the form. Would be more pleased if Cuddles pipped him, although I doubt that's going to happen with the lack of support he has and the not so great TT'ing.

Nibali looks as was to be expected, but his team looks weak. I don't think he'll win it.

he's at 23.45 down on GC - he's completely tanked.

What can we read into Evans riding the Giro? Will TvG be the BMC leader at le Tour?

Riding the Giro for a guy like Cadel is one thing, competing to win is another. If he goes all in for final podium it is hard to imagine him being able to be strong for the full duration of the tour to compete for the overall.

Naa...*I think* Cuddles is just getting into form. Tejay will be able to provide some much needed support to him if Cuddles keeps up this form at the TdF.

Nibali did great today, sky somehow screwed up (said this before in another thread) leaving the colombians to tow wiggo in the previous weeks, you can sacrifice one of them but not both of them, not came the disaster for sky. There's still a lot of racing tho so who knows what will happens but darn Nibali is racing great.

Evans helping nibali for some reason, and IMO that sealed his fate at the end. Evans is not winning so why help you know. Either way nibali did great.

The canadian is toasted, nothing to do but maybe go for a stage or something, wiggo after all did ok and you can tell is climbing the problem is that the other ones are climbing even more (nibali), if everybody is climbing like that for the tour i dont see contador or rodriguez doing crap in the mountains.

TJ will be the team's leader for the Tour. Cuddles will be cooked after the Giro.

I am placing bets that TJ will finish higher than Evans...again.
