Fizik 3mm bar tape?

Anyone used this? I am thinking of switching up from my trusty Specialized S-Wrap Classic.

No, I have Superlight 2mm Microtex. Thick tape is not what its fluffed up to be. Hope that helps.

Haven't used the 3mm Fizik tape but checked some out last week and it was too soft and had a brushed finish I didn't like.

I switched to Zipp Service Course CX bar tape last September and I don't think I'm switching back from rubberized tape.

I used the 2mm fizik. didnt like it. wasnt comfortable or grippy enough
switched to lizard skin 2.5 .. and its beautiful. plush enough but not too thick. tonnes of grip.
thought about using lizard skin 3.2 for my commuter.. but thats super plush haha. maybe next time.

Fizik microtex wrapped over some cork tape for cushioning = awesome.

It's comfy and it made the transition to the campy hoods more seamless.

well he has it taped on giganto 35mm bars, and he has it wrapped way up the tops, which normally people do not do on those bars-

I suspect beatnik has hands the size of baseball mitts.

2mm Fizik demonstrated padding didn't give *me* any more comfort, but ymmv. Maybe its the 32h rims?

Reggie, you're right about the "oversized" bars. However, as you can see in the pics below, the carbon bars and the aluminum bars have different tops. Al bars taper so they are, in fact, properly wrapped.

Heh....I just use the cheesy Bell cork/foam tape you can buy on FleaBay for ~$6. I actually like it. Not super thick, grip's OK and cheap enough to replace on a regular basis, but I buy it in black so I don't have to.

I wasn;t calling you out for doing something wrong, "right" is whatever feels best- I have 31.8 bars with lizard 2.5 on them, then I wrap over that with handlebra. It makes my tops BIG, which work for big hands.

Your bars made me laugh because I know the Gorilla uses the 35 with no tape on his tops, and I was trying to imagine a guy with even bigger hands.

If those 35 bars came with a 140+ stem I would try them out fo' shizzle.
