what say you paceliners?

T11 Hub from White Industries. Spokes and nipples are silver. Rims are HED Belgiums.

'Old-Skool' was 126, not so good on a 130 hub.

I'd try to source a silver Record 130, failing that, the BTI ones look ok.

It looks (from online pictures) that the dura-ace 7900 skewers would probably look better... or atleast similar finish.

I haven't paid enough attention to these in person to know for sure.

The 7800 look a little bit more matte. Which I'm typically not against, but for continuity, might look weird.

At this rate, I'm going to be hanging a tarp from my handlebars and be sleeping under that.

I don't think I've noticed any real difference in 7700, 7800, 7900 skewers. I think all would look ok.

True, I over-simplified...I meant the previous generation silver 130 records...not the new, current generation, black ones.
I'm running the silver 130s on the exact wheel set the OP is building and they look (and perform) stellar.

I just searched google for these and the first result.... ding ding... our very own classified section... D'oh! that pair had already been sold.

I think I'll probably go dura-ace, but those campy ones sure are easy on the eyes.

Velo-orange also makes traditional skewers:

I've never used them, but, they look pretty good.

What is people's experience with the BTI Halo Retros? They may not be DA, but are they strong high quality skewers?

If the bike has horizontal dropouts, definitely go with something like the Dura Ace where the serrations on the QR nut are steel, not aluminum. That hub doesn't have steel serrations...

Can't complain about DA skewers...but, what about Salsa (http://www.prowheelbuilder.com/salsa-stainless-skewers-silver-pair.html)?

zipp aero skewers look good on most hubs as well...though they don't have as much clamping force as DA, they are A LOT cheaper through the right avenues...

i have one set of silver white industries with silver record skewers, a black set with the zipp ti skewers, and another rear silver with hope skewers (chrome drop outs, dynamo front.) They all look nice.

for silver WI hubs and silver spokes, its hard to beat silver record skewers.

If you absolutely, positively need to clamp the hell out a horizontal, chromed dropout, Hopes are really, really strong, but the silver finish is not quite as bright and lively as record. I always had problems with my wheel slipping before I got the Hope skewers precisely because of this issue

fwiw the VO skewers are incredibly underwhelming in person. Salsa skewers are nice, but they seem a bit clunky, and a poor man's Hope.

Unless this is for a Surly or something ;), get the Campy with the puka in it.

I have those wheels on my Bedford and use Salsa silver skewers. Look fine to me.

I would get some silver Bold skewers and polish the outer surface.

It works and shows you give a damn.

Life is too short to weigh to much (tm).

I have upgradeitis, and started looking at skewers (I have Salsa now and they are fine, but.....). The Bold ones look nice, but there is some buzz that ti skewers may not be as durable/safe as steel for those of us in the 190+ category. Any thoughts about the use of ti skewers for riders in this weight class?

You are fine at 190lbs.

We've been using ti skewers on our tandems for 20 odd years......Specialized and Salsa's.

As others posted, some frame designs with horizontal do and or harder polished do would be better served with conventional Shimano or Campy or Mavic skewers.

You need to know what works where and a pay a bit more attention when using light weight skewers.
