Hi,

Just bought a used 2011 Giant TCR Advanced SL frameset with the stock Giant fork. In the process of building the bike I noticed it did not have an alloy crown race but a shaped area that fits the bottom steerer bearing.
Impossible to contact Giant directly.
So my question is:
Does the fork on this bike have an alloy crown race or does the bottom bearing sit right on the carbon of the fork crown?

Thanks for the help!

Ya know... I don't recall whether my TCR has one or not.

I'll have to go look.

I can't answer your specific question, but it is common for carbon frames with integrated headsets to have either a pressed-on crown race or a molded-in tapered "race" for the lower bearing to sit on. My 2010 Felt F5 had the steel race, my 2013 Felt FC does not. Both integrated.

It does not have a crown race - bearings sit right on the carbon of the fork.
