View Full Version : Almost a white whale but only a white helmet

For years I was too lazy to really search for something other than a Giro with their questionable design attempts. The last few years I have looked in earnest for an all white helmet without large amounts of grey or black or anything but more white. I'm about to give up for the year and get a Mavic Plasma despite its flaws. Would anyone out there have a suggestion other than a $$$ S-Works? I'm much too close to justifying it needlessly.

I'm even open to tracking down a couple year old helmet in NOS condition.

I have an all white Catlike Vacuum that I really like. I like the lighter gray foam colour and the same colour straps. Very little on that helmet that screams out.... except the styling, which is aggressive. Lots of ventilation, that's for sure. The Xacobeo Galicia team used it.

I think it looks great, and it fits well, but it's not a subtle design

Check their store if you don't like the red bits.

if not the prevail, then specialized offers the propero and s3 in white. iirc, one of them is the previous s-works that was renamed once the prevail came out. i had that one. liked it lots.

Thanks for the suggestions. I may try a Catlike or Uvex which were both off my radar. I'll also look into the Spec models a bit better. Kask has popped up as another option I had forgotten about but fits my head. Should be able to get something before this lovely blizzard passes.

I have a Lazer O2 that's all white... not sure is currently available, but a sweet helmet...

I tried all of the Lazer helmets and they didn't fit. That has been my issue and lend to a general call for ideas. Most companies make a white helmet.

I'm a big fan of the Bell Sweep, but the current year model doesn't seem to be readily available in just white.

The even-fancier Bell Volt ($155 MSRP) is though.

This is the 2013 Sweep in White/Silver:

But if you can find a 2011/2012 Sweep or Sweep R, that's where I'd go. I had a 2008 Sweep (white) and just replaced it with a 2012 Sweep (gray).

BTW, Uvex is a solid suggestion, too.

KASK K.50 in plain white has been on Chainlove for cheap recently -- I got one and like it.

I picked up a closeout Giro Prolight a while back at my local Performance store. Looks like they are still available. It has a bit of silver but it can only really be seen close up.

I like my KASK K10. Their retention system is the best in the business, it pivots down to cup the base of your skull rather than try to grip the crown which requires excessive tightening. I've never tried anything more comfortable (LAS is a close second, although their system is pretty similar). They took special effort to avoid the mushroom-look, if you're vain like I am. :p

I think their Mojito looks really good too.

As worn by Sir Bradley.

Here's a video to show you how far the retention system actually pivots down.

I have a Prevail in white. Good helmet. Only thing I don't like about it are all the bugs that get sucked in to the vents.

I have a lazer helium in white. nice fit system. I think it is either a 2011 or 2012 helmet. White with silver accents. I also have a black one. Matte black.
