Funny to think not that long ago I would not look at a bike unless it had fat carbon tubes. Funny how things change

It's not a fair comparison. When I got the Vagen it was before the crash that jacked me up. The SV had a 14cm ht and the fit was great. Now the FF has a 18cm and the fit is great. F'd up eh? But in the end my numbers are getting back to where they were, not there but getting there and I feel like a cat2 again

I am not interested in which beast lets you put down the best powermeter numbers,

I do like knowing about perceived stiffness, suppleness, acceleration, cornering, pedal clearance, flex, handling,
that sort of stuff.

Of course, if both "ride like they are on rails" then I don;t need to hear that.

Bicycle frames are an allegory of life experiences and travails. Ride the marketing merry-go-round for all the novelty and promise of wonderment to findout for yourself what is real. Acquire ease and surety in walking away from the hype, the illusions and the insecurities.

That is when a custom steel bike from a builder becomes the perfect vehicle in form and in substance. Which in fact is what it was all along.
