Above 70 degrees today! :banana::banana:

How are you other high latitude paceliners doing? This winter was entirely too long.

Last week we were still grooming our XC Ski trails, and a couple yahoos had to be rescued from an iceberg, this week the snow is gone and we had folks out on their paddle boards. :hello:

Best time of the year (lucky to not have allergies I suppose). 50 miles on Saturday, commuted yesterday and today in a t-shirt, an extra 10 last night that ended at Harvard to toss a disc around under the lights on the soccer fields...did I mention I love spring?

Not exactly sure the physics behind this, but a pretty cool natural phenomenon... ice needles.

The past few days were 50s to low 70s but today is a sad 30ish with light snow flurries. Looks good for the weekend and then I will spend the next 2 weeks in Illinois. I hope the sporadic weather doesn't follow me home.

Matt, what's the purpose of the white tape on the seatpost?

Just wondering.

Here around the tri-state area it's been raining like non-stop. Eagerly awaiting the weekend when it's supposed to clear out ..

Northwestern Vermont has great conditions at present.... Semi sunny, 60s to low 70s, many roads in good shape, even dirt roads, green grass and the first flowers. Still some snow up ontheski slopes to see.
For anyone riding up this way in the summer, some significant road work is planned, check the state transportation website for updates. Notable is rt 2 between Richmond and Waterbury, which will require east west cyclists to use a parallel dirt road for the segment.

That's speed tape, Louis.
Makes the bike go faster.

Nice LeMond, btw. I always liked the LeMond look.

Reporting from 43.6 degrees north: Got out for my 5th ride last night. Even rode to work today  Daily highs are now hitting the low 20's Celsius. About freaking time that the weather has come around. We had snow falling last week . This time last year I ad been on the road for over a month.

Matt, what's the purpose of the white tape on the seatpost?

That is a vestigial indicator of how far to insert my saddle. I went through a period of having to take the post out ALOT (like a few times a week) and used the tape to keep the right level clear. Unfortunately, when you're sliding the post in, and it 'falls' on the tape, the tape moves up a bit each time. leaving you with what we have now... the tape indicating a spot way to high on the seat post. I left it on there because I have been trying to nurse this bike until the Kirk is ready, and I'm lazy. Notice the polar wheel sensor is still on there (though I don't use it) and the front and rear wheels don't match, and other odd quirks. Once the Kirk becomes my daily driver, the Lemond is going to get some TLC.

Riding has been awesome here. Nice and dry before the humidity sets in.

An added comment, whatever souplesse I might have had last fall was unceremoniously stripped from me this winter. Back to basics for the month of may... the sessions on the trainer did nuzzing!

A few inches of snow this morning but the sun has come out and the grass is returning to view. Karin went skiing this morning and I'll ride this afternoon.

Spring in the Rockies.

Spring in the Rockies.

Not inches, but we had snow in my Utah neighborhood this morning. Spring in the Rockies indeed.

40 degrees north.
