A friend of a friend has a nine-year-old son who was diagnosed with brain cancer a couple of summers ago and is currently having a very rough go of chemotherapy. To keep his spirits up, he's collecting postcards from well-wishers and tracking their points of origin on a Google map. It would mean a lot to him if you would take a moment to send him a postcard from your far-flung, secret lair. PM me if you'd like the address. Thanks.

(Also, mods, if this is inappropriate, please delete.)

Yeah, it's really awful. Kids shouldn't get cancer. I mean, nobody should get cancer. But kids? No way. Anyway, thanks.

I just went and hugged the younger boy. "What up, dad?" "Nothing. I just needed a hug."
