who is this muddy young man? he's one of yours. some of the best event photography I've ever seen. the guys a real pro.

Back to the hooligans. the shot is taken at the bottom of an off camber hill that preceeds a slick run up. the section ate up the womens and the C field. There were some chairs set up at the bottom and the guys seen spraying the beer had numbered plackards and were scoring the crashes. someone got in Shino's way and he went down there as well. Anyway, the guy on the ground is part of the team who has promoted the Cross Crusade for some years. When he went down, the panel jumped up and doused him beer. Some one then grabbed his bike and ran to the top of the run up while the hooligans re loaded and chased him up the hill while giving him a second spraying of beer. The next time through, he stopped and took a couple of pulls of a long-neck.

those kinds of things are typical at the back of the field around these parts.

that's young konrad. in 2003 at p.i.r. natz, he was either gonna win
or get second (his teammate ending up winning), before a mechanical
with 1/2 lap to go WRECKED HIS WORLD! thankfully, owing to a strong
season, his petition to usac got him on the u.s. world championship
team, despite ending that miserable portland day in 7th place.

Yep I crashed there...TWICE!!!! Effin race organizers....does every muddy down hill have to be off-camber? My back hurt for three days.....
