Dang...don't like the color and the lack of a heel clip thing, but for the price...

Thanks!

Any color but all white, and I might have gotten a pair.

Man, those are white! I'm too old school to pull off that look.

The worst thing about them is that if you get caught in the rain, they'll turn an ugly shade of pigeon grey.

You could just dunk them into a vat of black dye, but then over time it would leach out onto your socks and feet and make a horrible mess.

I see, the slow water drip made famous by my ancestors. Bettinis are 44.5. I thought they did not fit you?

I saw that too, and was duly impressed. A measly 55 is my PB.

Definitely pro!

But they get to use a new pair for every stage. I don't have that luxury. ;)

That's OK- if the shoes stay too white, then one really looks like a poseur ;)

Also, gotta rock the black socks to accentuate the white even more

East side of the Fedaia Pass down toward Malga Ciapela. Dead straight and 12+% for something like 2km then a couple open sweepers and another km of descent.

Tuck in and you won't need to touch the brakes until you see three digits in km/h. Requires absolutely zero skill, but some faith in your tires!

Oh, there is a 90d left at the end, but it's well-signed.

I see, the slow water drip made famous by my ancestors. Bettinis are 44.5. I thought they did not fit you?Haha, something like that. I'm either a 44 Mega or a 44.5 regular. I have Genius 5s in 44M and Ergo 1s/2s in 44.5. Either seems to work. I just picked up a pair of these white ones in 44.5.

I'm probably going to keep riding my black ones though and just use these as a template for cutting holes in my Defeet sock booties. Because I hear that's what the really pro kids do.

Did anyone not get an email from Bikewagon saying they sold more than they had, etc?

Doesn't surprise me. I didn't order because the eBay page said 7 available / 10 sold.

I took that to mean that they had 17, 10 of which had sold.

That sounds more reasonable, but if you go to the closed listing it now shows 7 available / 7 sold.

I'm glad it's now closed. The longer it lasted the more I was tempted.

I got that message as well. What sucks is the fact that when I bought them pretty early on in the listing. I think it was somewhere around "7 available 3 sold" and still got that message. Ehh, refund for me. :(

sounds soooo easy when you say it. me, my eyes start watering at 40mph even with glasses. nothing around here that allows for that much speed. I know its like video games, you dont try to play at level 10 the first time out.

here its all too tight, you make a mistake and you hit a redwood or fly off the road into a gulley

Those were Rapha Oversocks, not defeet sock booties my friend. The time for the letting go of the bettini's may be coming. Now that I realize they would actually fit you I will let you know.

If anyone bought an extra pair of 44.5s that they are regretting (unlikely, I know), drop me a line! :)

If Paul decides it's time to fund Maddie's college education with those Bettinis, I could be convinced to move these white ones. It'd be at a small premium over the ebay price, though.

Hark the Herald Angels Sing!

Yesterday, a pair of all-white Vernice Genius 5s showed up on my door. Current-style models with the newest ratchet buckle etc. In box, complete with all hangtags, inserts, catalog, etc.

Now, to drop another 5 lbs and add 60 watts, so I can actually wear them!

THANK YOU enr1co!!!

Can't afford the $200 shoes, unless you'd accept lifetime haircuts in San Jose as barter/trade ;)

I had it my brain they were $189.99. Holy $hit...I should have bought one just because I can't look away from a deal!

For $85.99 you can wash your car wearing them!

white is soooo pro.

argh....I should have sent you my single boa s-works. you would have looked good in those.

I need to come up with a list and ask you before. all I have left taking up space is small parts which when tucked away remind me less of all the money I spent that is just sitting there.

love to get a pro cut, but I need to keep supporting my 73yo cuban barber who keeps repeating randy stories of his youth in cuba while shaving me with the 00000 (five zero's) blade

I had it my brain they were $189.99. Holy $hit...I should have bought one just because I can't look away from a deal!Yeah once they ran out of stock, they started a new auction at $185.99 but the original ones were $85.99 and, as Enr1co pointed out, that included shipping. It was really one of those deals that make you think, "This has got to be a mistake!"

I'd have bought them in lime green at that price!
