Anyone have thoughts on this model? I enjoy Ciocc, but wonder about the rest. The 1980s yearbook-style photo does not help at all.

Looks like a cool bike despite the goofy picture. I have no idea if $800 is out of line but it seems like a fair deal to me.

I know almost nothing about Ciocc, but from what I gather I think they're probably pretty nice bikes.

Thron is fairly pedestrian (as far as Columbus tubing goes), but I'd seen a number of prestigeous brands (Pinarello, Grandis, and now Ciocc) who had some models that used similar (and even low end, like Columbus Aelle) tubing, but had wonderful workmanship and were no doubt fine bikes. If I wanted another bike and was in the area, I'd definitely check it out.

Tom

Thron has the same wall thickness in the main triangle as SL, but has a 28.6 mm TT and a 32 mm DT. It also has big 30 x 18 mm ovalized chainstays. I'd think it would be a pretty stiff frame, especially in a 54 cm. I have a bare 59 cm lugged Thron frame here that weighs 4.8 lbs.
