Show me your garage bike/gear storage ideas

Mrider started a great thread here (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=127916) showing his solution for garage bike storage. I don't have enough wall space for that and was wondering what others did. I wish I could store them hanging vertically by the rear wheel on hooks, but we have a 9'3" ceiling in the garage and wife and daughter are <5'4". I'm 6'5" so it's not a problem for me, but they would need a ladder.

You can put hooks in at an angle in the wall. Make it so the bike hangs low enough that your wife/daughter can reach up and grab the bars and top tube and lift the bike up a couple inches.

A short tray on the wall will help with keeping the bike stable and not tilt one way or another. "Tray" can mean anything from a piece of tray from a bike mount, a couple blocks of wood, etc.

There are some commercial products available for this too. One folds out of the way so the bikes fold to the side.

I just didn't have the depth required for vertical mounting (basically, saddle height off the ground).
