I see two derailleurs and their associated cables that could be shed to make it lighter.... also the extra cogs and chain ring... Why do you need two brakes? Why not just go for one...


I've seen someone on this board post their college thesis, which was a hill climbing bike. I believe it was single speed, geared for mt. washington, and had either one or no brakes.
