My bike's Campy chain is marked C V E, which I seem to understand is a Veloce 10 speed chain.
When looking to buy another chain the only thing I find for Veloce is marked C10.
Are these the same and if so is the CVE the old marking or perhaps a 9 speed chain?

Thanks Rob

The 9 speed chains I have used have been marked C9. I have not seen a chain marked CVE but OP can surely tell you what it is.

There are pics of Veloce and Centaur chains in the 2011 catalog, but not close enough to read what's on the side plates. The Centaur has 2 small holes drilled in each side plate. Since these are likely the only C10 chains still made, I'd guess if it's C10 and not drilled, it's a Veloce chain.

C10 were the older 6.2mm chains..about 2004 or so. Current chains I have say 'VE' on them.

So I assume that if I wanted to used the current Veloce C10 markings I would be okay as a replacement?

I use KMC myself, but I'd think either would work.

For the historical record, the C10 chain was replaced by 3 different 5.9 mm chains for the 2006 model year. The Veloce is stamped "CVE", the Chorus is stamped "CC", and the Record is stamped "CR". Chorus and Record both have 2 small holes in the side plates.

Sure, they just went to 5.9 because they thought it would be quieter. Only bad news is all the 10s quicklinks qare for 5.9mm chains..you can use a 9s quicklink but I didn't say that.
