Cycling in beautiful downtown Burbank

So I was down in Burbank last Friday to see a filming of a Two and a Half Men episode at Warner's, and on Saturday morning I walk out of my hotel on West Riverside and I'm stunned to see the area swarming with cyclists. What gives? Is Burbank a secret cycling mecca? If I would have known there was good riding in the area, I would've brought a bike down.

However, Griffith Park is. Likely they were heading in that direction.
