:D

So I'd like to order one of those "Flanders Classics (http://www.vermarcuk.co.uk/special-edition-kits-1/vermarc-flanders-kit.html)" LS jersey. I think they're awesome! Thing is it seems I can only order from Vermarc UK so I want to get the fit nailed as it's almost impossible to return something for cheap to the UK. Thanks Canada Post. And I heard Vermarc sizes very small.

So any forumite my size wearing Vermarc? I'm 5'10 and 173lbs, 42" chest. I wear Rapha XL, Road Holland Den Haag L. What size Vermarc should I order?

Thanks,

Philippe.

You like your jerseys loose, don't you - based on your Rapha and Road Holland sizing.

I'm 5'11" or 6'0", 160-165 lbs, and I wear a Vermarc 4 (Large) as a race-fit jersey. I'd recommend a 5 for you, but maybe a 6 based on your fitting preferences. Probably a 5 though.

Yeah, on second thought, there's no chance you're a 6. You're one size larger than me. 5 it is.

BTW, do you have any Castelli jerseys? Vermarc and Castelli fit the same to me.

They're not really loose on my sausage-like upper body :D

The Road Holland Den Haag L is the best fit I've ever had in a jersey. Fit but a bit of play. Perfect. I'm totally in love with it.

So you say Vermarc XL?

Thanks Christian!

No I don't. In fact that's gonna be my first ever Lycra jersey.

FYI this is me (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3032014/laredoute.jpg) wearing a Rapha Lightweight jersey size XL...

Agree with Christian. You are an XL in Vermarc. Same size as me.

I've never owned a Road Holland jersey, but based on what I know of their sizing (at least 1 size fuller than Rapha), I'd think that a Vermarc 5 (XL) will be slightly smaller than a Road Holland Large and a Vermarc 6 (XXL) will be slightly or significantly larger.

Thanks guys. I think a safer bet would be XXL then, especially if I want to wear a merino jersey under it.

You look more like Jonathan Vaughters than Eddy Mercx. But, then again, I don't look much like a black dog.

On topic, go with the XXL, it is hard to find a Jersey that does fit like a unitard these days. Especially when you see the term "race cut".

No. This is a bike racing jersey, not a Harrington jacket! It is supposed to fit with a Schleck-like snugness. It should be downright uncomfortable if you're not on the hoods and drops. I should be short enough to show off the panel on the back of your shorts. :)

(Do you have a Santini "Molteni" replica wool jersey? Same size as that.)

Jeez I'm even more confused now.

I had a Sachs XL jersey that I got here (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=117216). Made by Verge?

It was too large, I resold it on the forums.

Paul said those jerseys were a 7. That's an XXXL.

Seriously, if you want a "racing" fit, you're an XL. If you want a "club" fit, you can get an XXL, but I think you're risking it being a bit big.

Another data point: I'm 5'6", just under 150 pounds and wear 38S suit jacket.
My Vermarc size 4 fits a little loose and I find it to be very comfortable in the summer.

Another option:
If you are in seemingly in between the two sizes, order the larger. If it turns out too big for your preference just have it taken in by a good tailor/seamstress. Shouldn't be more than $40, probably more like $20-$25.

At 6" and 135lbs I use this option fairly regularly as "smalls" are often too short in the length, but "mediums" are a bit tent-like. Also especially useful with arm warmers as mediums are best for length but my 7" biceps won't hold them in position...

This may provide you with some additional info: My Vermarc jersey post (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=25700) (if the Vermarc sizing has not changed over the years)

If I were you I would definitely not get a Vermarc L / 4

Hey Louis, that jersey still kicking around?

I think I gave it to a buddy of mine at work. If you're interested I can ask him if he ever wears it, and if he doesn't I can tell him that I've found a home for it.

Edit: (You can have it for free, of course)

Haha, no that's ok. Let him keep it. There can't be many of those floating around St.Louis. If it were a 2004 Brioches la Boulangere jersey, I'd make you go get it back though! :)
