No broken bones, lots of stitches, he may be toast for P-R, too.

Just started watching... what happened?

his front wheel was swiped by the back of a sideways 'wave' of riders on a straight wide road. he was the only rider to fall. 20 km in. ambulance ride to hospital. x-rays, stitches, no fractures. he'll be back, but no PR. unlucky '13.

Seeing Greipel in a breakaway hurts my brain.

I want to see more of this show where you race against giant dominoes.

I am a little confused what Sagan is trying to accomplish at this point....His best bet right now is to hide in the Peleton and catch a breath right now and try to at least make the podium...he's wasting energy. The entire group knows this is a race for 2nd at this point (barring mechanical/freak accident)...Cancellara will continue to put more time into the group with them racing for the podium.

Kristoff is lurking in the peloton.

Yes...I understand the Peleton did nothing to bring him/them back...He and Roelandts weren't working that hard. I thought the Podium at Flanders was worth more than that (from the groups perspective)....did you see something I didn't?

Yup. Everyone was soft pedaling. No one cared. Of course.

At Flanders it seems that riders are not good about working together after the last climb.

remember JVS in 2011?

i think that was exciting because we had a semi-on-form hushovd as an antagonist. he had the WC stripes at the time and seemed formidable as a foil against cancellara.

who's going to be there to pull back FC when he goes turbo? Sagan's sitting out. Boonen's down and out. The big guns are gone, I'd be shocked if FC didn't win this one.

Same story last year for P-R with Cancellara out and Boonen sitting on great form.

Thanks for posting the vids, guys. That was my first chance to sneak off for a bit and watch the ride. I'd seen Cancellara break from Sagan in a couple shorter vids, but you just can't appreciate the staggering moment that it is without watching more of the race. That was just stunning. And then to watch him clip along at 50kph after 6 hours and 250k... and all this after such let-downs last year. Gods, what a rider.
