Any way to do it in the U.S.?

Do casinos in Las Vegas or A.C. take bets on cycling? (talking pro cycling here, not Keirin) Foxwoods?

Call a casino and ask. I think they have betting on NASCAR.

I hope not. The sport is messed up enough as it is.

There may be a few lurker Yakuza members here who have a problem with that sentence structure.

I thought Keirin are pro cyclists. Sort of like jockeys on two wheels.

They are. I was trying to draw a distinction between UCI WorldTour races such as Milan San Remo, Tour of Flanders, Paris Roubaix, etc. and the professional cyclists that ride around a track.

PS. I called Bally's in Las Vegas. They won't take the action.

Common place in euro-land. Sorry. Just cause you don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

That's unfortunate. Stuff like that can only do harm.

Interesting. Maybe there's not enough play in it for betters. Can't see why not if you have Cav in a sprint stage or Voekler in a mountain stage.

I would think NASCAR would be hard to set odds for because of the parity. I mean, after Sunday's race, who would have thought the leaders would wreck each other and the third place car go onto win? (Though that's happened before in NASCAR).

Many sports are already harmed w/o betting. Cycling's no different than baseball in how it's harmed itself. I don't see how betting on bike racing is going to decimate the sport more than it already is.

The only reason I was interested in this is because of the differing odds for Taylor Phinney for RvV and PR. For PR, he's actually pretty favored, 12/1 and for Flanders he's 100/1. I know the parcours are different, and PR favors him, but either, his odds for PR are high, his odds for RvV are low, or both...

Why not bet on cycling in Europe? I'm sure there are some casinos on the French Riviera who can accommodate you.

Isn't that illegal? I thought with the poker sites, a lot of people had their money seized... maybe I don't know all the facts? I figured that online betting from the US was pretty shady. I also know that InTrade (a 'prediction market') was shut down by the US, I'm not sure if people lost their money.

Nice dude :) Thanks! I'm going to make mad loot with my Taylor Phinney arbitrage strategy.

Speaking of odds, where are you geting these figures from? Also, can you look up odds for Ms.Andy Schleck to finish her next race? And, well just for kicks the odds of her actually winning that race.

Betting on bicycle races?

Remember the tacks on the road at the TdF last year? The mind boggles at the tactics the vested might stoop to to influence race results.

I've dabbled before with it.

Try:

Cancellara is the favorite for Flanders.

Always bet on Blue.

So 'pro' that the results of the race is pre determined before the race. From Nelson Vails, who comes in occasionally. He has some great stories about his tenure in Japan, racing Keirin.
