Hi,
I'm looking at almost new/used smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 or
Samsung Note 2. Like the bigger Note 2 screen size though.

1. what providers have the most minimal of minimal service plans at the lowest
cost? Maybe just a phone plan with web at home and use where WiFi available??
Any provider have a minimal phone minutes and minimal data plan as most are
10X what I'd use??

2.is it true that all Verizon plan phones are all unlocked--one ad states that?

I was intending to be the last man standing without a cell phone but:
went on a couple bike trips from Minne-snowta to Texas and to
Arizona.
It would have been nice to;
- check emails/ send emails from motel via WiFi
- take a few pics to email home
- surf da web, need my Paceline fix.
- have GPS app
- probably don't need monthly phone plan, make/receive min calls.
Wife has Virgin plan for phone minutes--only needs to buy $25 worth
every 3 months.

On my TX trip, my carpooler had new Smartphone ($35 special for
regular $100 phone from Best Buy) with no phone hookup and just
used in WiFi hotspots. He preloaded detailed area maps before trip.
Emailed/surfed when WiFi available. $0 per month fees.

On AZ trip, that guy's plan was $150+ per month, IMO outrageous.

Thanks for any tips.
