I bought it on the assumption that I can sell it if I change my mind. I have wanted one for awhile but they seemed so pricey, but I wanted a bb30 crank for my bike anyway (I had been using adapters). Looks like I got the last one. I still don't get the price, as what appears to be the same thing is on their website for $2300.

It was a SRM SRAM BB30 powermeter for $1098.

http://www.backcountry.com/srm-sram-s975-bb30-wireless-powermeter-sem0010

The intro was as follows:
If you think that one man won the Tour seven times on toughness alone, you're kidding yourself. The SRAM S975 BB30 Wireless Powermeter played an integral role in Team RadioShack's success, and it's finally available for us mere mortals. Cheaper than a European coach's salary, and feeling like your favorite Red crank, the S975 Powermeter System gives you the most accurate power readings on the SRAM market, without sacrificing a stitch of rigidity. Take your riding to the next level, and start training with power.
